Many hospitals do not invest the time and effort to define, quantify and reach agreement on the expected and desired benefits of a new technology. This can result in differing and sometimes unrealistic expectations among hospital leaders, leading to fragmented and lengthy technology implementations that fail to deliver the anticipated benefits. Other hospitals plan for and execute a tactically successful technology implementation, but are not ready for the changes in processes and behaviors required to reap the benefits of the technology initiative.
MedeAnalytics’ Value Planning and Implementation Readiness Assessment Consulting Services drive consensus around realistic project goals, including quantifiable financial benefits, and determine your readiness for a successful Performance Management solution implementation.
Value Planning
A value framework is a short list of the key Performance
Management solution benefits that deserve focused
management attention. Your unique value framework is
developed by:
- Interviewing stakeholders about their expected system benefits, reviewing benefit analyses you may have already completed, and educating stakeholders about benefits realized by other MedeAnalytics clients
- Preparing a draft value briefing document to summarize the results of the interviews, propose a prioritized list of benefits, and educate stakeholders about benefits that have been realized by others
- Facilitation of a one- to two-hour value workshop session in which stakeholders agree on a short list of expected benefits that will become the focus of the solution implementation and discussion of the results of the implementation readiness assessment
- Calculation of expected amounts of benefit for the areas agreed upon in the value workshop, as illustrated here:

Implementation Readiness Assessment
The implementation readiness assessment begins with
brief online surveys of leaders and staff in the operational
areas affected by your new Performance Management
solution(s)—
for example, the patient financial services and
patient access departments, and executive leadership
of the health system. The survey data are analyzed and
discussed in the stakeholder interviews to identify and
confirm implementation readiness issues, focusing on
well-established key success factors in four areas:
- Structural/Organizational
- Measurement
- Adoption
- Operating Processes
Based on the surveys and interviews, a summary of findings is produced highlighting implementation readiness issues, as illustrated here:

The final results of the readiness assessment are presented during the value workshop, and a plan is developed to mitigate risks and ensure a successful solution implementation. This plan and a final value briefing document are delivered to you.
