Mede Leadership Summit Spring 2005 in Napa, California
In April 2005, Mede brought together Mede clients, associates and business partners to network, share best practices and guide the Mede solution direction in Napa, California.
Mede clients discussed best practices in empowering their organizations, improving the revenue cycle and performing month end A/R reporting. Attendees also discussed how to prepare for upcoming challenges in consumer driven health plans and denial management of ERISA plans.
Mede also presented highlights from the 2005-2006 product plans, results from the 2005 user survey and service delivery enhancements.
Highlights of Client Knowledge Sharing
Tom Yoesle, Director of Patient Accounting at Orlando Regional Healthcare shared how he empowers his organization with Mede using favorites, KPIs and analytics. His organization “works their favorite Detailed Analytic Measure (DAM) reports” to achieve their individual performance goals.
Sandy Kiehnau, Director Revenue Cycle at Aurora Health Care outlined some of the practices Aurora used to reduce A/R 91- 180 days by 23% and A/R over 180 days by 40%!
Kirk Pogue, VP of Business Office Services and Mary Brooks-Welsch, Division Business Office Director at Triad Hospitals shared their A/R month end process and reports such as Upfront Cash Collections, Self Pay Agency Assignment and Timeliness of Billing among others.
Donna Poole, Director of Patient Financial Services at Texas Children's Hospital educated the group about the mechanics, growing market adoption and collection challenges of consumer-driven health plans. Donna also presented the definition of ERISA plans and highlighted some of the challenges with ERISA denials.
