MedeAnalytics Launches Hospital Readmissions Resource Center

Readmissions penalties will cost underperforming providers

EMERYVILLE, Calif., Dec. 5, 2012 – MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions, has launched the Hospital Readmissions Resource Center as an educational service to the healthcare industry. The center provides legislative and educational information regarding hospital readmissions to help organizations prepare for the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program (HRRP) of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

“The Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program is one of the numerous delivery reforms in the health reform law, and it represents another area of potential revenue loss for providers,” observed Ken Perez, MedeAnalytics’ director of healthcare policy and senior vice president of marketing. “The impact of the program will increase in the future, as the penalty cap rises and the number of conditions for which hospital readmissions will be assessed expands.”
